Quick Guide
Is This Website Safe? Here's How to Tell in 3 Seconds
May 16, 2026 · 3 min read
You've received a link. Or you've found a website selling something you want. But something feels off. How do you know if it's safe?
The old advice was to "look for the padlock." That's not enough anymore. Scam sites have HTTPS too. You need to check more — but that doesn't mean it has to be complicated.
The 3-second method
Go to panoptes.online, paste the URL, and click scan. In 3 seconds you'll get:
- 📊A security score from 0 to 100
- 🚨A clear risk level: Low, Medium, or High
- 🎣Whether it's on Google's phishing list
- 📅How old the domain is
- 🔒Whether HTTPS is properly configured
- 🛡️Which security headers are missing
What the score means
80–100 — Low risk: Generally safe to proceed, but always use your judgment.
50–79 — Medium risk: Some issues found. Proceed with caution.
0–49 — High risk: Serious red flags detected. Do not enter personal information.
When in doubt, don't
If a website scores below 50 or shows any phishing/malware warnings — don't buy from it, don't enter your details, and don't click any links on the page.
It takes 3 seconds to check. It could save you thousands.
